Banner Making
Wigan S.T.E.A.M | FREE | Booking Required

Come to the Wigan S.T.E.A.M to make your own text banner in response to the question, “What is it that you want more than anything else?” We are opening up the question to anyone aged 25 and under, allowing their views of the world and their communities to be heard.

The banners will be entered into our Networked Narrative Text Art competition and displayed throughout the venue; giving young people an opportunity to express their own ideas and see their work displayed alongside the renowned artist, Mark Titchner.

Entries will be judged by Titchner; Wigan Evening Post & Wigan Today Editor, Janet Wilson; Sean Aidley, Business Development Manager of Fleet Dynamic, sponsors of the artworks in Wigan and Leigh, and a representative from Wigan Council.

The winner will be presented with a framed certificate signed by Mark Titchner at the Networked Narrative public launch event on Saturday 10 June, 12.00 noon – 3.30pm and a £50 Hobby Craft gift card and £25 iTunes gift card for themselves. Two runner-ups will be presented with signed certificates, a £25 iTunes gift card and invitation to the public launch event.

One lucky person will also be invited to the launch and awarded a prize, specifically selected by Fleet Dynamic, sponsors of the artworks in Wigan and Leigh

Mark Titchner’s video works, together with the text banners will be exhibited at Wigan S.T.E.A.M from Sat 10 June – Sat 15 July 2017.
